Through your Aetna medical plan (mainland employees only), you have access to top-rated hospitals and facilities known as Institutes of Quality. They’re recognized for excellent care and commitment to your recovery.

IOQ facilities must meet strict standards for quality and efficiency. To qualify, several factors are looked at, including the level of care received, how often patients return to a hospital after surgery and the number of procedures a facility performs.

Costco pays 100% of hospital or surgical facility charges when you choose an IOQ for certain procedures:

Orthopedic (bone or muscle)
Cardiac (heart)
Bariatric (weight loss)

You’ll still pay your cost shares for your surgeon, anesthesiologist and other non-facility charges, but choosing an IOQ facility could save you hundreds of dollars.
