Do your employees know about their benefits?

Welcome to the Manager Update page. As you know, the well-being of Costco employees is our company’s highest priority. That’s why this page was created. It’s intended to be a resource for you, so you can be a more effective resource for your employees.

As a member of Costco leadership, you have an important role to play. You can inspire your employees to take the 2023 WITT pledge and encourage them to explore their benefits so they can take full advantage of them.

How to support the 2023 WITT pledge

January’s WITT spotlight is focused entirely on employees taking the 2023 We’re In This Together pledge. Remind your employees that when they take the pledge, they’re signing up to get to know their Costco benefits better, and use them in their everyday life to improve their emotional, financial and physical well-being.

When they pledge, each month they’ll receive an email reminding them to check out the new monthly content on the well-being portal where they’ll find support, like articles, podcasts, videos, and links to featured Costco benefits.

With January’s WITT content, on top of the 2023 pledge, employees can also learn about how setting SMART goals can help them reach attainable goals, what steps they can take to stay safe and healthy during winter months, and what well-being appointments they should start scheduling. What’s new for WITT in 2023

  • Well-being Challenges — All Costco employees and their spouses or domestic partners can participate. The first challenge will be announced in April.
  • Audio podcasts featuring Costco employees — Interviews will spotlight how employees are using their Costco benefits to improve their well-being. The first podcast will be available in March.
  • Easy access to encouraging testimonials from other Costco employees who have successfully used a Costco benefit program.

Talking points when speaking to employees about the Pledge:

  • Promote what’s new about the pledge in 2023 so employees know what to expect this upcoming year in terms of content.
  • Talk about the importance of taking the pledge, which is to prioritize their well-being, be updated and informed of benefit plan programs, and get the most out of the benefits that are available to them.
  • State that their involvement throughout the year to accomplish their goal can be as little or as big as they want it to be. All they simply need to do is watch for their monthly email that will help guide them to success.
  • Remind employees that no matter what their situation might be (emotional, physical, financial, work-life balance, etc.), Costco has a resource that can help.
  • Reinforce that most of the benefit programs are available at no cost and some are even available to employees that are not benefit-eligible.
Pledge resources you can use
  • Track your location’s pledge participation in 2023 here.
  • Download and print a WITT Pledge flyer here that you can share with your employees. This will be in addition to the monthly digital poster that will be uploaded to the Costco Channel automatically.
